This is the work and goodness of tender fatherly love, that He not only raises man from the dead, but restores to him His great grace through the Spirit;  Instead of corruption, he dresses him in an imperishable garment, and instead of hunger, he slaughters the fattened calf, and in compensation for the long distance he traveled on his journey, the Father awaiting his return to him provides shoes for his feet.  What is even more amazing than this is that he gives him the divine engagement ring on his finger, and in all of this he makes him an image of the glory of Christ.
